The former director of a commune in the Byron hinterland that collapsed with investors claiming $2.5 million is pushing for a suburb-sized alternative village in the same area.

Locals opposing the Nightcap on Minjungbul development at Mount Burrell, north of Nimbin, have dubbed the major reincarnation of the former land-sharing project “hippyland” on a “commercial scale”.
